De-epithelialised radial forearm free flap to recontour the buccal commissure: The radial forearm flap or “Chinese flap” has been used commonly since its development in 1978 by Yang et al.1 Modifications over the years have included suprafascial flaps, musculocutaneous and tendinocutaneous flaps, composite flaps with vascularised bone from the radius, the reverse forearm flap, and others.2 The features that make it so versatile (it is both pliable and manoeuvrable) often mean that it can fold on itself at the commissure, which results in a poor aesthetic appearance and threatens complete closure of the lips.
